Led by Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero, the Nashville Symphony is offering two performances of Sergei Prokofiev's beloved Peter and the Wolf on February 20 - an 11 a.m. performance with English narration and a 12:30 p.m. performance with Spanish narration. Shirley Guerrero, the wife of Giancarlo Guerrero, will serve as narrator for the Spanish-language performance, and tickets for this performance are available for only $5.

The program features Prokofiev's vividly realized work in which various instruments of the orchestra represent characters in the tale of a boy who outsmarts a hungry wolf. In addition to narration by Shirley Guerrero, both programs will also feature puppets custom-made for these performances by Wishing Chair Productions of the Nashville Public Library. The puppeteers of Wishing Chair Productions will provide narration for the English-language performance, which is presented as part of The Ann & Monroe Carell Family Trust Pied Piper Series.

"It's always a thrill to have children visit the Schermerhorn and to introduce them to the sounds of the orchestra," said Giancarlo. "It's even more exciting that with Peter and the Wolf we are able to reach an even broader audience by providing a program specially designed for the Spanish-speaking community."

Tickets for Peter and the Wolf with English narration range from $12.50 to $25, and all tickets for the Spanish narration performance are $5. Tickets may be purchased via the Symphony's website, NashvilleSymphony.org, or by calling the Schermerhorn Symphony Center Box Office at 615.687.6400.
