As you may already know, Repercussion Theatre is celebrating 25 years of Shakespeare-in-the-Park this season and is kicking it off in Montreal atop of Mount Royal. Please join Repercussion on July 11th for A Starry Night behind the Chalet du Mont-Royal!
At 6:30pm, enjoy musical performances by Shakespeare-in-the-Park alumni Nick Carpenter, Mike Hopkins, Jennifer Morehouse and Emily Skahan (Motel Raphael) while being transformed into an aristocrat, a fairy, or a mechanical by the extraordinary face painting talents of Kromatic. All ages welcome! The evening will be co-hosted by founding Artistic Director, Cas Anvar, and current Artistic Director, Paul Hopkins.
At 7:30pm, grab a blanket, a lawn chair and a picnic basket, sit back and enjoy this special staging of A Midsummer Night's Dream, the play that practically invented the concept of Shakespeare in a park! If you prefer to avoid the inconvenience of lugging items up the mountain, and want to support Shakespeare-in-the-Park at the same time, special Picnic Packages are available (includes VIP seating, a picnic, an invitation to our "After-Party", a ballot to win two round-trip tickets from ViaRail, and a tax receipt)! Lawn chairs will be available for rent for $5.
If you can't make the July 11th event, or maybe you want to come more than once, the tour starts with preview performances at McGill Campus' Three Bares Park on July 4 and 5, we take the show on the road to Reford Gardens, Grand Métis for a couple of days, then back to Montreal and other beautiful settings for the remainder of the tour.
As always, performances are FREE or GIVE what you can, and we will be collecting non-perishable food items for local area food banks.
To arrange group seating (for 10 or more) or for other information, please e-mail or call 514-931-2644.
