Lane is a busy doctor with a Brazilian cleaning lady named Matilde who doesn't like to clean and dreams of being a comedienne. The doctor's sister is obsessed with cleanliness and volunteers to clean for her. The doctor's husband leaves her for an older woman and . . . The plot may sound like a bizarre soap opera, but this modern work is a warm-hearted and whimsical look at class, comedy and the nature of love.
