Theatre of the Ridiculous and Absurd presents: IRVING BERLIN'S MUSIC BOX REVUE 1921! Out of the era of Ziegfeld Follies, George White's Scandals, The Passing Shows and others that made Broadway Irving Berlin's Music Box Revues was among them. The Music Box Revue of 1921 was at the beginning of the Jazz Age. The show is filled with music which will delight your heart, wiggle your toes, and make you leave with a song in your voice. With comedy sketches laced throughout, youll laugh as audiences did so many decades ago. This October 12-14, Theatre of the Ridiculous and Absurd brings you the first ever fully staged historical revival of IRVING BERLIN'S MUSIC BOX REVUE 1921. Based on the original piano score, this production is a fully realized combination of all aspects of Irving Berlin's genius. Jerome Kern commented that, “Irving Berlin has no place in American Music. He is American Music." Newly orchestrated for a simple pit orchestra, along with a complex piano score denoting Berlin's distinctive style, the production features a talented cast of regional performers, choreographers, and musicians. Join us at this historical theatrical gem presented at the Ives Auditorium. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Aliveness Project and Open Arms of MN for meal programs for people living with chronic illness, and YouthLink for homeless youths.
