I Was a Stranger Too
a new play by Cynthia L. Cooper, directed by Carolyn Levy, follows a woman who decides to help asylum seekers in memory of her family’s Holocaust experiences, and encounters a rich mosaic of people, especially women, navigating the system. The play tells of the hope that can arise from a single act of caring and concern.
Featured in the play are Bethmari Márquez Barreto, Kirby Bennett, Nicole Frethem, Mahmoud Hakima, Megan Kim, Jasmine Porter, Shona Ramchandani, Abigail Ramsay and Phasoua Vang; Karina Hunt is the Production Manager and music is by Leslie Steinweiss.
Jan. 26 and 27 at 7 pm; Jan 28 and 29 at 2 pm.
Performances followed by discussions with experts, activists and people involved in asylum.
