SteppingStone Theatre Presents The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!

By:

SteppingStone Theatre's long running holiday tradition returns for its 20th year. The antics of the Herdmans the worst kids in the whole history of the world bring chaos, disaster, and then miraculously turn what should be the worst show into... The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!

Featuring unforgettable, beloved characters, like the Herdman children, the church ladies and a heavenly choir of baby angels, and staged with show-biz flair, sparkling costumes, great dialog, brilliant music and a whole lot of fun, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! is a favorite holiday treat that's affordable for the whole family.

Every year since 1991, SteppingStone Theatre has created a new version of this classic story. SteppingStone's production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! has become a holiday tradition for so many families. The staff, cast and crew also look forward to the production every year. Richard Hitchler, SteppingStone's Artistic Director says "We are so excited about the 20th
anniversary production of Pageant. We've kept track, and not only will this be the 20th production, but we will also celebrate our 500th cast member, and our 140,000th audience member!"

Directors of past Pageants includes some of the best in the Twin Cities, with Ron Peluso, Gary Breitbach, Kevin Schniepp, and Karen Gundlach, among others. 'This year's director, Stephen Houtz, is keeping the tradition alive and vibrant by setting the bar high for our young performers, knowing they always succeed brilliantly," Hitchler continued. "We are looking forward to
a wonderful production, and an exceptional addition to a St. Paul holiday tradition."

This popular play, based on the classic story by Barbara Robinson, is the perfect example of why one should never judge a book by its cover. It is a celebration of how achievement can triumph over expectations.
