Hennepin Stages Presents 'Where's My Tony?' 8/9
It's time to roll out the red carpet, pop the champagne and get ready to laugh! Where's MY Tony? is a spoof cabaret featuring the categories you really want to see performed at the annual Broadway Awards show. Showcasing medleys from award-winning productions including The Phantom of the Opera, Wicked and Jersey Boys, this comedy bestows honors in such categories as "Worst Title for a Musical Ever," "Most Guilty Pleasure Musical" and "Best Musical That Has Absolutely No Original Music In It." Where's My Tony? is produced by Hennepin Theatre Trust and written by local actors Josh Campbell and Whitney Rhodes.
Where's My Tony? features performances by seven Twin Cities actors known for their work with the Guthrie Theater, History Theater and Theater Latté Da. Cast members include Josh Campbell, Whitney Rhodes, Catherine Battocletti, Madde Gibba, Kinaundre Lee, Jared Oxborough and Rose Le Tran with musical direction by Denise Prosek, Music Director at Theater Latté Da. Scorning traditional categories like Best Score, Best Actor and Best Musical, Where's My Tony? skewers hit songs, introduces crazy characters and includes a People's Choice Award chosen by the audience at the end of the night for their favorite rendition.
