The final production in this year's Mainstage Series at the Peck School of the Arts in Milwaukee is a new adaptation of Anton Chekhov's classic play Three Sisters, directed by Associate Professor Rebecca Holderness and adapted by graduating Theatre student Fly Steffens.

The production will also feature an original score, performed live by a band of musicians. While researching the play, Holderness and Steffens encountered a musical version of Three Sisters and decided that having characters sing could help display the deep emotions of the play. Bill Barclay, resident music director at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Massachussetts, wrote the original score for the production.

Three Sisters runs today, May 2-Sun, May 6, 2012, 7:30pm Wed-Sat, 2pm Sun on UWM's Mainstage Theatre, located at 2400 E. Kenwood Blvd, Milwaukee. Tickets: $17 general/$12 seniors and UWM faculty, staff and alumni/$10 student. Box office: 414-229-4308 or arts.uwm.edu/tickets.
