Apple Holler's Red Barn Dinner Theatre is set to present, The Kitchen Witches, a rip-roaring comedy written by Caroline Smith. Opening October 4, 2011 and running through November 19, 2011, The Kitchen Witches is certain to give guests a "cackling fantastic" dinner theatre experience!
Isobel Lomax and Dolly Biddle are two "mature" cable-access cooking show hostesses who have hated each other for 30 years, ever since Larry Biddle dated one and married the other. When circumstances put them together on a TV show called The Kitchen Witches, the insults are flung harder than the food! Dolly's long-suffering TV-producer son Stephen, tries to keep them on track, but as long as Dolly's dressing room is one inch closer to the set than Isobel's, it's a losing battle. The show ends up becoming a rating smash as Dolly and Isobel top both Martha Stewart and Jerry Springer! Red Barn Theatre guests will recognize the familiar faces of this cast of four. Playing the role of the highly animated and over-indulging Dolly is Apple Holler's regular performer, Tammy Zeller. Zeller was last seen on the Red Barn stage as the zany Lucy Bicardi in the 2010, "Trouble at the Tropicabana - An I Love Lucy Murder Mystery". The self-proclaimed, "classy" Isobel Lomax will be played by Apple Holler's own Entertainment Director, Heather Clayton. Filling the role of Stephen, Dolly's insecure son and low-budget cable show producer, is Richard Morales. Morales has had many Red Barn guests "rolling in the aisles" with his fabulous character portrayals such as Detective Jackart in, "The Honeymooners on the Disoriented Express" and Mr. Big in "Trouble at the Tropicabana". Finishing the cast is the Red Barn Theatre's resident stage manager, Mariah Schmidt. Schmidt will appropriately play the role of often seen, but not heard, Robbi, the stage manager of Dolly's cooking show.
