Photo Flash: The Angel Arrives at The Ringwald for ANGELS IN AMERICA: MILLENNIUM APPROACHES
by BWW News Desk - Michigan
(02/11/2014) - Tony Kushner's Angels in America is that rare entity: a work for the stage that is profoundly moving yet very funny, highly theatrical yet steeped in traditional literary values, and most of all deeply American in its attitudes and political concerns. Kushner tells the story of a handful of people trying to make sense of the world. Prior is a man living with AIDS whose lover Louis has left him and become involved with Joe, an ex-Mormon and political conservative whose wife, Harper, is slowly having a nervous breakdown. These stories are contrasted with that of Roy Cohn (a fictional re-creation of the infamous American conservative ideologue who died of AIDS in 1986) and his attempts to remain in the closet while trying to find some sort of personal salvation in his beliefs. Scroll down for a first look at the Angel in The Ringwald's upcoming production of ANGELS IN AMERICA: MILLENNIUM APPROACHES!

Photo Flash: First Look at Holiday Shows in Rep at Two Muses Theatre
by BWW News Desk - Michigan
(12/07/2013) - Yes, you CAN have your fruitcake and eat it too. Two Muses Theatre, a nonprofit, professional theatre based in West Bloomfield, Michigan, will produce two holiday shows in repertory this December. Matinees are for families, with a staging of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas written by popular Broadway playwright, Ken Ludwig, in which the famous poem is a springboard to tell the story of a Jewish elf, a mouse, and a little girl who join forces to save Christmas. Evening performances will be family-friendly as well (suitable for the non-believers-and-older crowd), with Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!) by Michael Carleton, Jim FitzGerald and John K. Alvarez - a madcap romp covering the usual holiday stories (such as Frosty, Rudolf, Charlie Brown, The Grinch, etc.) in very unusual ways. Act Two of this funny play finds three incredibly energetic actors playing all the characters in an irreverent mash-up of It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol. Photo Flash: First Look at The Penny Seats' LITTLE ME, Opening 7/11
by Tyler Peterson - Michigan
(06/24/2013) - The Penny Seats third annual summer show at Ann Arbor's West Park opens on July 11th. This year, the troupe is proud to present Little Me, the farcical autobiography of Belle Poitrine, supposed star of stage, screen, and sinking ship. From her humble origins as Belle Schlumpfert on Drifter's Row, to her meteoric rise to wealth, culture, and social position, to her many mates and her one true love, all are here. Neil Simon's script is a scream (yes, Neil Simon wrote a musical!), and the music by Cy Coleman and Carolyn Leigh sparkles. Better still, Penny Seat Roy Sexton will attempt a comic tour de force originated by Sid Caesar and designed just for this show: he will play no fewer than six characters. Check out a first look at the cast below!
