Mujeres artistas de Amberes a Ámsterdam, 1600–1750 showcases the significant contributions of female artists during a vibrant period in the history of the Northern Netherlands. The exhibition features works from over forty creators, including the notable flamenco artist Johanna Vergouwen, known for her acclaimed copies of Rubens and Van Dyck. Two of Vergouwen's pieces from 1673, Encuentro de David y Abigail and Sansón y Dalila, from the Museo Nacional de San Carlos, highlight the essential role women played in the artistic economy of the time. This display aims to challenge the perception of Dutch and Flemish women artists as scarce and underrecognized.
