The Arundel Barn Playhouse to Present BEEHIVE: THE '60'S MUSICAL

"Sock it to me, sock it to me, sock it to me..." You can't help singing along when Aretha Franklin asks for some "Respect," and this year the iconic tune turns 50. Though originally written and recorded by Otis Redding in 1965, Franklin reimagined the song as a declaration from a strong and confident woman, which is why it is one of the featured songs in The Arundel Barn Playhouse production of Beehive: The '60's Musical.

Beehive is a rockin' jukebox musical featuring a slew of strong women who sang the hits of the '60s. Looking back at the hottest singers and girl groups of the decade, the show follows pop music from the early bubble gum days to the civil unrest of the later '60s.

Audiences are invited to sing along with Aretha Franklin, The Chiffons, Tina Turner, Petula Clark, Connie Francis, Brenda Lee, and Janis Joplin with hits like "Respect," "My Boyfriend's Back," "River Deep-Mountain High," "Downtown," "Where The Boys Are," "I'm Sorry," "Piece Of My Heart," and more! The Playhouse production includes familiar faces from this season - Brigette Estola, Caroline Keegan, and Allison Sandler - and also welcomes newcomers Virginia Vass, Roslyn Seale, and Annelise Cepero to close out the summer in this rockin' '60s show.

So, grab your go-go boots, tease your hair, and buzz on over to The Arundel Barn Playhouse for Beehive: The '60's Musical!

Embrace the nostalgia of the '60s with a special offer. Wear your best tie-dye shirt, pants, skirt, or outfit and receive 10% off when you purchase your ticket at the door for any evening performance of Beehive.
