Louisville, KY – Highview Arts Center is delighted to present THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES by Roger Bean. From this jukebox musical comedy featuring hits from the 1950’s and 1960’s, a group of highschool seniors are called to perform at the last minute at their senior prom, and then again at their 10-year reunion in Act 2. Springfield High Songleaders Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy, rally together to entertain their classmates in four-part harmony. In Act 1, set in 1958, the young women explore the ups and down of high school, friendships, boyfriends and the pains of unrequited love. In Act 2, a little order and a little wise, the young women come back together to perform at their 10-year high school reunion! Friendships are mended, love persists, and new adventures await for Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy! There will be audience participation suggested! Come to the performance in your finest prom dresses and suits - any time period welcome! There will be a photobooth for “Prom Pictures”, please consider donations of gently used prom dresses that will go towards the The Prom Project KY, as well as special VIP seats onstage with the action!
