The FESTIVAL OF NEW AMERICAN MUSICALS kicks off its 7th year with a staged reading of GOING HOLLYWOOD tonight and Thursday, January 22 and 23, 7:30pm at the Barnsdall Gallery Theater in HOLLYWOOD. The Festival is offering free admission to the reading as a gift to the community. Reservations at info@lafestival.org.

Going Hollywood is a musical version of George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart's 1930 Broadway comedy, Once in a Lifetime, a spoof of Hollywood. The musical is by Joe Leonardo and Tony Award winner David Zippel (lyricist and co-librettist), and Jonathan Sheffer (composer). Leonardo directs.

Festival Co-executive Producer, Marcia Seligson, says: "We've been eager to present Going Hollywood for some time. This is the West Coast premiere of one of the marvelous hidden treasures of musical theatre. "

Featured in the cast are: Vicki Lewis (Tony nominated for Damn Yankees; Broadway's Chicago, TV's NewsRadio), Adam Wylie (Wicked, Into the Woods), Anneliese Van Der Pol (Broadway's Beauty and the Beast; Vanities; TV's That's So Raven) and Tim Martin Gleason (Broadway's The Phantom of the Opera).
