Theatre of NOTE continues the celebration of its 30th anniversary with HAVE YOU SEEN ALICE?, written by Jacqueline Wright and directed by Adrian Alex Cruz . HAVE YOU SEEN ALICE? will preview on Thursday, November 3rd .at 8pm, and will open on Friday, November 4th at 8pm and run through Saturday, December 17th at Theatre of NOTE, 1517 N. Cahuenga Blvd. (just north of Sunset) in Hollywood.
HAVE YOU SEEN ALICE? is a whimsical thriller. Alice struggles against her own ennui -- stuck in a complacent marriage quickly losing all sense of love and connection, she becomes drawn into a worldwide gender war. Her sanity hangs in the balance as she is forced to choose between the strained banality of her domestic life and the high wire-drama of a secret conspiracy urging her to sacrifice herself for the greater good. Leaving us to wonder why Alice, a seemingly inconsequential and utterly average woman, is so important. Dripping with surreal and poignant images, the drama is a moving allegory for the universal struggle we all feel, caught between the daily battles to get up and go to work, pay bills, plan for the future, and the larger global issues that seem so distant and impossible to resolve.

JACQUELINE WRIGHT's (Playwright) plays include Bing (premiered at Theatre of NOTE in 2002 / also produced at Occidental College); Eat Me (six LA Weekly Award nominations); Love Water, and Spider Bites (named One of the Ten Best Plays of 2008 by the Ticket Holder Awards). ADRIAN ALEX CRUZ (Director) graduated from USC with degrees in film and theatre. He is a long time company member of the Evidence Room and founder The Calamity Theatre. Previous work as director includes The Epic Of Gil (nominated for an LA Weekly award), Eddie Legs (nominated for 4 LA Weekly Awards), Wildboy '74 (Invited to the NY Fringe Festival) and a limited LA engagement of Equus at the 24th Street Theatre. Most recently he directed Fun Days At Sea as part of Doomsday Kiss at Bootleg and at the Upright Citizen Brigade as part of the sketch team, The Space Program. His comic book Seed is published in France by Les Humanoides Associes and is currently being developed as a feature film. He has been writing and developing television projects for NBC, Fox Studios, WBTV and USA
