The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills announced two selections for its PaleyLive Summer 2018 season and one selection for its Fall 2018 season. The summer programs include: CNN's The 2000s: A Look Back at the Dawn of TV's New Golden Age which will feature a look at the most groundbreaking television shows of the decade, and A Special Evening with Dionne Warwick: Then Came You, celebrating the career of the legendary entertainer. The fall selection, Words on Dance: Jerome Robbins and West Side Story, is part of a worldwide celebration of the legendary director-choreographer's centennial which will include an exclusive conversation with original cast members.

CNN's The 2000s: A Look Back at the Dawn of TV's New Golden Age

The Paley Center for Media will present the premiere screening of part one of the CNN Original Series The 2000s. The seven-part series, from Emmy Award-winning executive producers Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman, and Mark Herzog, explores the cultural and political milestones of the decade. Part one of the series focuses on TV in the 2000s and the significant shows that rose to prominence including: Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Arrested Development, and Everybody Loves Raymond. Vince Gilligan, Creator & Executive Producer of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul; Carolyn Strauss, Former President of HBO Entertainment and Executive Producer of Game of Thrones; Chuck Lorre, Creator and Executive Producer of The Big Bang Theory; Tim Matheson, "John Hoynes" on The West Wing; and Kim Masters, Editor-at-Large for The Hollywood Reporter and Host of KCRW's The Business, will take part in an exclusive onstage conversation.


A Special Evening with Dionne Warwick: Then Came You

Grammy Award-winning artist and legendary entertainer Dionne Warwick will grace the Paley Center stage in Beverly Hills on August 1 to present a premiere screening of the PBS special which chronicles her extraordinary career in song, My Music Presents: Dionne Warwick - Then Came You, which features tributes from friends and admirers including Gladys Knight, Barry Manilow, Smokey Robinson, and Burt Bacharach. Warwick, who has sold over 100 million records, achieved worldwide superstar status with an unparalleled string of hits including: "Walk On By," "I Say a Little Prayer," and "That's What Friends Are For," which remains popular among audiences of all ages today.


Words on Dance: Jerome Robbins and West Side Story

The Paley Center for Media partners with Words on Dance on October 11 for a celebration of legendary director-choreographer Jerome Robbins to present a centennial celebration and in-depth look at the artist and his best-known work, West Side Story. The smash hit was conceived, directed, and choreographed by Robbins, with music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim - and premiered on Broadway in 1957. The cast of the 1961 Academy Award-winning film version of West Side Story will reunite for an exclusive onstage conversation about Robbin's choreography and their experiences working with him on the film. Academy Award-winner, Rita Moreno "Anita"; Academy Award-winner Russ Tamblyn, "Riff"; and Eliot Field "Baby John" are scheduled to participate. The program, moderated by noted Broadway and film director-choreographer Rob Marshall, will feature clips from West Side Story along with home movies taken on set, plus rare TV interviews and dance footage. Tickets to all three events go on sale June 20 at 9:00 am PT to Paley Center Supporting and Patron Members.
