The Manhattan Transfer Christmas Show Returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall

By:

Ten-time Grammy award-winning quartet, The Manhattan Transfer, return to the 2010 Deck the Hall holiday concert series at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 8:00 PM with The Manhattan Transfer Christmas Show. In a program featuring seasonal favorites and songs from their three-decade career of popular and jazz hits, Cheryl Bentyne, Tim Hauser, Alan Paul and Janis Siegel offer their toe-tappin', finger snappin' harmonic pop-bop in a wonderful evening of yuletide cheer.

The platinum selling group made Grammy history in 1981 by becoming the first group to win Grammys simultaneously in both the jazz and pop categories. The group also put out the second most honored album in pop history in 1985 with Vocalese, earning an impressive 12 Grammy nominations, surpassed only by Michael Jackson's Thriller at the time.

Last year, The Manhattan Transfer celebrated their 40th Anniversary with the release of The Chick Corea Songbook, marking the vocal quartet's first new record in five years. The Chick Corea Songbook was inspired by the jazz great, and features fresh and exciting vocal interpretations of many of his popular compositions.
