The Los Angeles Philharmonic presents the 2017/18 world music series at Walt Disney Concert - four concerts featuring international sensations from around the globe. This year's concerts feature; seven-time Latin GRAMMY-winner Natalia Lafourcade performing for the first time with the LA Phil; acclaimed singer-songwriter M. Ward and Rhiannon Giddens, the first woman and first African-American to receive the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass; Glen Hansard, star of the Oscar-winning film Once; and Bajofondo, led by Oscar- and GRAMMY-winning Gustavo Santaolalla.

M. Ward returns to Los Angeles for this very special evening. The singer-songwriter and producer hailing from Portland, OR, will be delving into his acclaimed catalogue from his eight solo albums, spanning genres of folk, rock, doo-wop and more. The evening begins with GRAMMY-winner Rhiannon Giddens, "an indispensable folklorist and a master of American music who finds inexhaustible inspiration in jazz, blues and the old-time string music she mastered while with the Carolina Chocolate Drops" (Riverfront Times), captivating audiences with a powerful performance highlighting her latest solo album, Freedom Highway.

Saturday, March 10, 2017, at 8:00 p.m. Glen Hansard Acclaimed singer-songwriter Glen Hansard (The Swell Season, The Frames) - star of the Oscar-winning film Once, which was adapted into a Tony Award-winning musical - returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall for two performances of soul-stirring melodies and raw emotion. At Hansard's second performance, Sunday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m., he will be accompanied by the Los Angeles Philharmonic as part of the Songbook series.

Saturday, April 28, 2017, at 8:00 p.m. Bajofondo Argentine and Uruguayan collective Bajofondo returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall for the first time since its sold-out performance in 2010. The high-energy electro-rock-tango ensemble, fronted by Oscar- and GRAMMY-winning Gustavo Santaolalla, is known for its rousing live shows and modern reimagining of traditional Latin instrumentation.
