The Colony Theatre presents A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC in Concert
The Colony Theatre in Burbank has announced four performances of A Little Night Music In Concert from September 21-24. The concert presentation of this classic musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Hugh Wheeler will be directed by Laura Stribling and feature musical direction by Jennifer Lin. Sarah Jo Provost serves as assistant director.
Inspired by the Ingmar Berman film Smiles of a Summer Night, the original Broadway production of A Little Night Music was nominated for 12 Tony Awards and won six including Best Book, Best Original Score, and Best Musical. Since then, the show has enjoyed professional productions in the West End, by opera companies, in a 2009 Broadway revival, and at countless regional theatres throughout the United States and abroad.
The cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Liza Baron, Angela Baumgardner, Carly Bracco, Marc Ginsburg, Erica Hanrahan-Ball, Michelle Holmes, Taj Jegaraj, Jennifer Kumiyama, Stanton Morales, Joey Nisivoccia, Sara St. Pierre, Cloie Wyatt Taylor, Peyton Thomas Tucker, Alison Whitney, and Robert Yacko.
This concert presentation is the first in a series committed to creating a platform where beautiful scores come to life focusing on diversity in casting and featuring talent that is often underrepresented. The series will encourage women to step off the stage and into leadership roles behind the scenes. A Little Night Music In Concert boasts an entirely female creative team.
A Little Night Music In Concert is produced for The Colony Theatre by Noelle Berry, Carly Bracco, Liza Baron, and Marc Ginsburg.
The running schedule for is Thursday 9/21 at 8pm, Friday 9/22 at 8pm, Saturday 9/23 at 8pm, and Sunday 9/24 at 3pm. Admission is $35 and tickets may be purchased online at www.colonytheatre.org or by phone at (866) 811-4111. The Colony Theatre is located at 555 N.
