The Actors' Gang Welcomes Two New Board Members

The Actors' Gang Artistic Director Tim Robbins, Executive Director Simon Hanna, and chair of the Board, Collette Brooks proudly announce the addition of two new members to The Actors' Gang Board of Directors since January 2017. The newly elected board members are Billie C. Greer and Malissa Feruzzi Shriver.

Their intelligence, dedication, and commitment to supporting both the arts and social justice will be an invaluable addition to the Actors' Gang and our community," said Colette Brooks, Chair of the Board. "I have personally been inspired by Malissa and Billie for years. They are powerful, compassionate women who live their lives in service of those less fortunate."
Billie Greer is a trustee of the Lowe Institute of Political Economy at Claremont-McKenna College and serves on the Board of Directors of the Television Academy Foundation and the Downtown Women's Center, which honored Billie as its Community hero in 2015. Malissa Feruzzi Shriver is the Executive Director of Turnaround Arts California, the state affiliate of the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH) program, chaired by First Lady Michelle Obama. Malissa also serves as the President of the board for Turnaround Arts CA and does arts education advocacy and political strategy work for Frank Gehry.

Billie C. Greer
From 2011-2015, Billie Greer served as President of the Southern California Leadership Council, a non-profit, non-partisan organization founded by four former California Governors and Southern California business and community leaders, to address and resolve public policy issues critical to the region's economic vitality.
With 30 years of experience in the public affairs arena as an advocate and community leader, Billie Greer served as Director of Governor Schwarzenegger's Los Angeles regional office and a member of his senior staff from 2004 - 2010. In 2010, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed Billie to the California Science Center & Exposition Park Board, and Governor Brown subsequently reappointed Billie to this Board, which oversees Park operations.
Earlier in her career, Billie was an executive with the consulting firm of Braun & Company/Braun Ketchum and subsequently co-founded and served as president of Greer/Dailey, an LA-based public affairs consulting firm, which helps for-profit and non-profit clients facing land use and environmental challenges meet their objectives.
Active in the community, Billie is a trustee of the Lowe Institute of Political Economy at Claremont-McKenna College and serves on the Board of Directors of the Television Academy Foundation and the Downtown Women's Center, which honored Billie as its Community hero in 2015.
In 2004, Billie was inducted into the National Association of Women Business Owners/LA's Hall of Fame, and she has been honored by several other organizations including LA Bio Med, the San Fernando Valley Business Journal, the Black Business Association of Los Angeles, Alternative Living for the Aging, Asian Architects and Engineers Association, and the Los Angeles African American Public Policy Institute, among others. She is a past President of the Junior League of Los Angeles.
Billie is a great-grandmother and rides with a Harley-Davidson group nearly every Sunday.
Malissa Feruzzi Shriver
Malissa Feruzzi Shriver is the Executive Director of Turnaround Arts California, the state affiliate of the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH) program, chaired by First Lady Michelle Obama. Malissa also serves as the President of the board for Turnaround Arts CA, and does arts education advocacy and political strategy work for Frank Gehry.
Malissa was appointed to the California Arts Council in 2005 and served as chairman for four years. She was co-chair of the California Task Force on Creative Education, appointed by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson. Malissa is the co-founder of CREATE CA, a statewide coalition of partners working to restore arts education to public schools. She is the former 1st Vice President of the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies board, chairing the Arts Learning Advisory Committee. Malissa is a former board member of WESTAF, the Western States Arts Federation, serving on their congressional advocacy committee as well as the executive committee. Malissa is also a former member of the California Alliance for Arts Education Policy board, the California Music Project and serves on the board of trustees for the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), the advisory board of Get Lit, and for CRoC, the Centers for Research on Creativity. She attended UCLA and the Harvard Kennedy School's State and Local Government Program and in 2014 won the national arts education award from Americans for the Arts. She was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Laguna College of Arts and Design.
