Single tickets for the 2011/12 season at Walt Disney Concert Hall are on sale Sunday, August 21 at 10am.

Music Director Gustavo Dudamel begins his third season with the Los Angeles Philharmonic September 27th at Walt Disney Concert Hall with an all-Gershwin program featuring Creative Chair for Jazz Herbie Hancock.

The 2011/12 Walt Disney Concert Hall season includes 9 new commissions, 7 world premieres, 4 U.S. premieres and 5 West Coast premieres with 14 weeks of Dudamel-led subscription concerts.

The 2011/12 season includes The Mahler Project with performances by the LA Phil and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela (SBSOV). To honor the 100th anniversary of Gustav Mahler's death, Dudamel will lead the LA Phil and the SBSOV in performances of the complete symphonic cycle in Los Angeles and in Caracas. The Mahler Project culminates in a performance of Mahler's "Symphony of a Thousand" at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on February 4, 2012. The two orchestras will be joined by eight soloists, the Los Angeles Master Chorale, Pacific Chorale, and the Los AngeLes Children's Chorus, as well as community choruses from throughout Los Angeles to perform the enormous masterpiece.

Other notable classical highlights include:
· Esa-Pekka Salonen returning for a second season as Conductor Laureate (Nov. 25-27, Dec. 2-4)
· The launch of a three-season project of Mozart/Da Ponte operas; each designed in collaboration with iconic architects; series launches with Frank Gehry designing Don Giovanni.

In addition to classical presentations, the 2011/12 season features jazz, world music and popular music.

The Jazz series concerts, helmed by Creative Chair for Jazz Herbie Hancock, include:
· Sing the Truth! with Angélique Kidjo, Dianne Reeves, Lizz Wright (Oct. 22), which celebrates the legacy of recently passed legends Miriam Makeba, Abbey Lincoln and Odetta.
· The Preservation Hall Jazz Band & Trey McIntyre Dance Project bring the New Orleans spirit to Los Angeles in their Walt Disney Concert Hall debut (Nov. 22).
· Cuban flair comes to Walt Disney Concert Hall when Chucho Valdes & The Afro Cuban Messengers perform (Feb. 16).
· Straight from San Francisco, Kronos Quartet and the LA based Billy Childs Quartet (Mar. 11) share the Walt Disney Concert Hall stage.

The World Music series includes:
· Goran Bregovic and his Wedding and Funeral Orchestra (Oct. 26). Bregovic's orchestra includes a Serbian gypsy band, a string ensemble, an Orthodox male choir, and two Bulgarian sisters singing back-up.
· Straight from South Africa, the 26 member Soweto Gospel Choir (Apr. 11) returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall for a show of color, spirit, and jubilation!
· Fusing flamenco, jazz and soul, Paco de Lucía (Apr. 28) returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall for another explosive performance.

The Songbook series features:
· 30 Rock star Jane Krakowski (Oct. 23) making her Walt Disney Concert Hall debut.
· Judy Collins (Feb. 11) performing a mix of folk and pop by her contemporaries and from her own songbook.
· Tony and Emmy award winner Elaine Stritch (May 19), performing an all-Sondheim program.
