SPRING AWAKENING to Come to Mysterium Theater Image

Spring Awakening, the rock musical that took Broadway by storm, plays at the Mysterium Theater at the La Habra Depot Playhouse located at 311 S Euclid in La Habra from August 18- Sept 3. Produced by Marla Ladd, directed and choreographed by Miguel Cardenas and musical direction is by Gabby Maldonado, the musical tells of a group of pubescent students who navigate the anxieties of coming-of-age in a provincial world as their budding sexuality takes us from youthful lust to tragic consequences.

The ground breaking play fuses morality, sexuality, and rock and roll, and caused critics to exclaim that it awakened Broadway like no other musical. It won eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and was hailed by the New York Drama Critics Circle, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle as the Best Musical of the Year.

Tickets are available at the theater box office by calling 562-697-3311 or online at mysteriumtheater.com. The show performs Friday and Saturday at 8:01pm and Sunday at 5:01pm (except August 27 it is at 2:01pm). The box office opens an hour prior to curtain and doors open 15 mins prior.
