SCL and ASCAP to Present Evening with Alan & Marilyn Bergman 8/14; Moderated by Kerker

For The Society of Composers & Lyricists first SongArts event, the SCL and ASCAP will present an evening with illustrious songwriters Alan and Marilyn Bergman. As their songs have been enriching the Great American Songbook for more than five decades, they are recipients of three Academy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, the Grammy Trustees Award, and have been nominated for 16 Academy Awards.

Having written with such collaborators as Michel Legrand, Marvin Hamlisch, Dave Grusin, Cy Coleman, Henry Mancini, Johnny Mandel, Lew Spence, John Williams, Quincy Jones and James Newton Howard, they have had a variety of experiences and will talk about their songs, their process and show film clips. Join us for this unique and enlightening celebration of their life and work, hosted by ASCAP Director of Musical Theatre, Michael Kerker.

Please note that reservations for this evening need to be made by no later than 3pm on the day of the event. We hope you can join us!

This event will take place at: THE LINWOOD DUNN THEATER

(Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study), 1313 N. Vine Street (three blocks south of Sunset Blvd.), Hollywood, CA 90028. Please enter on Homewood (west of Vine St., one block north of Fountain). Free secure well-lit and convenient theater-owned parking behind theater. PLEASE NOTE: The parking lot will be closed and locked 30 minutes after the event concludes. NO FOOD (including gum/candy) NOR DRINK (including bottled water) ALLOWED INSIDE.

FREE for all SCL MEMBERS and for ASCAP MEMBERS Non-Members (non-SCL members, and non-ASCAP members) must pre-pay their registration through the SCL website. All non-member registrations must be pre-paid by 12noon the day of the event. Please print out a copy of your payment confirmation from the SCL website and bring with you. Non-member payments will NOT be accepted at the door.
