Robyn Spangler Brings LET ME SING To Palm Springs 5/30
By: Gabrielle Sierra
Robyn Spangler comes from three generations of show business with her first stage appearance in "Jesus Christ Superstar" at the age of 12 which Robyn called 'life changing.' Being listed in Who's Who Among Music Students in American High Schools during her senior year helped her land a vocal scholarship to study opera at Eastern Kentucky University, where she went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theatre and voice performance. Robyn continued to work professionally singing with rock groups, summer stock, dinner theater, an amusement park, and even at Opryland, USA. Commercial spots pitching everything from furniture to cars to pizza followed and co-hosting of a local TV show during the day while performing at night.
A move to Los Angeles landed her in the feature film publicity department at the Disney Studios where she stayed until and invitation to sing at Carnegie Hall in 2002 prompted Robyn to return to performing. She appeared in local theater before a chance meeting with Karen Morrow introduced her to the Los Angeles cabaret scene and the International Cabaret Conference at Yale. In 2009 Robyn released her first CD "On A Liquid Afternoon" and Her cabaret show "A Bad, Bad Woman" debuted at the Gardenia last May and returned again In October.Renowned musical director, Todd Schroeder, who also plays for Sam Harris, will accompany Ms. Spangler, who's presenting her new cabaret show "Let Me Sing" on Sunday, May 30th at an 8 PM show time.
