By: BWW News Desk
Registration closes today for the Third Annual Hollywood Fringe Festival (www.hollywoodfringe.org). Organizers call for artists and producers to join the celebrated event invading Hollywood this June. The registration deadline to be included in the printed Fringe Guide is April 1st.
Registration is a three-step process completed through the Festival’s website (read all about the registration process). Registration is $250 for most projects; free shows and/or single performances only cost $175. Registration fees pay for a listing in Fringe materials and many other benefits. There are no restrictions regarding genre, content, or length for the festival; specifics are left to participants and venues to determine.
Returning with his company for the third straight year is Gregory Crafts, Managing Director of Theatre Unleashed. "The Hollywood Fringe Festival is a force that has changed and unified the Los Angeles theatre community in a way no other organization has. Individual artists and small companies like Theatre Unleashed need the Fringe to continue to grow. The people of Los Angeles need the Fringe too. Many of them just don’t know it yet."
The Festival takes place June 14-24, 2012 with a week of previews the week before (June 7-12). Performances are staged in venues throughout central Hollywood including the Open Fist Theatre which was announced today as the 2012 Fringe Central Box Office and Mainstage.
