Photo Flash: First Look At The Terrible Legend Of Victoria Woodhull

By:

The Owl & the Pussycat Theatre Co. presents the World Premiere of The Terrible Legend of Victoria Woodhull at the 2018 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Many terrible legends have been told about the infamous Victoria C. Woodhull, the first woman to officially run for President of the United States in 1870.

In this production, a well meaning actress (Ashley Ford) in a misguided attempt at "method acting" conducts a seance to summon the spirit of the Victoria Woodhull, in order to tell her tale in truth (in the light of today's #MeToo movement), and set the record straight.

Ms. Ashley Ford, who plays Victoria Woodhull in this epic one woman show, explains, "The only terrible thing about it, is that no one knows who she is!" Or certainly a shocking number of people, as it would seem Victoria was deliberately left out the history books by her fellow suffragettes - come down to The Hobgoblin Playhouse, a 100 year old abandoned theatre right along the Hollywood Boulevard's Walk of Fame, to learn how and why from the ghost of Victoria C. Woodhull herself.

The Terrible Legend of Victoria Woodhull will perform 4 evenings only June 10, 13, 16 & 19th at The Hobgoblin Playhouse - 6520 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90028

Starring Ashley Ford; Written by Theo Salter; Directed by Karen Linton
