The Art of Acting Studio's professional company, The Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater Company, presents its Off-Broadway revival hit Lebensraum by Israel Horovitz, directed by Don K. Williams (Off-Broadway Lebensraum, Turn of the Screw, Look Back in Anger, Libidoff). The Harold Clurman Lab, recently nominated for a 2013 Ovation Award, will present Lebensraum January 24 - March 1st, 2014. Performances will be on Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM.

Backstage Magazine gave it Critic's Pick and raves that the Stella Adler Studio "scores a knockout with its riveting revival."

"What I saw on stage was beyond thrilling," said Israel Horovitz, American playwright and screenwriter, when he saw the Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater Company's performance. "I have seen dozens upon dozens of productions of Lebensraum in dozens of languages around the globe. It is among the very best I have ever seen."

Synopsis: In present-day Germany, the country's Chancellor, through a spasm of nightmarish guilt over the Holocaust, invites 6 million Jews to come live in Germany with a promise of "citizenship and full benefits," in the hopes that Germany can finally heal from its dark past. The response ranges from violence to hopeful anticipation, and "the new citizens," as they are dubbed, begin to arrive. Three actors play over 60 roles in this 90-minute kaleidoscopic journey.

Lebensraum by Israel Horovitz is directed by Don K. Williams and runs for 12 performances, January 24 - March 1, 2014. Tickets $15. For more information, visit: www.artofactingstudio.com.
