Phantom Projects Theatre Group Brings MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING to La Mirada Theatre Today, 11/8

By:

Those who missed the wildly successful 3-week run of Shakespeare Orange County's production of Much Ado About Nothing this past August will get one more chance when Phantom Projects brings back the original creative team to re-mount their production of William Shakespeare's MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. The one-day-only performance features a 10AM and 7pm performance tonight, November 8th at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. This production features Michael Nehring and Evelyn Carol Case as Benedick and Beatrice. SOC's Founding Artistic Director Thomas F. Bradac directs.

Tickets are $20, with discounts available for students and groups, and can be obtained by calling the La Mirada Theatre Box office at 714.994.6310 or 562.944.9801 or via: www.LaMiradaTheatre.com.

As a founding member of Shakespeare Orange County, Michael Nehring (Benedick) has been seen as Iago in OTHELLO, Touchstone in AS YOU LIKE IT, Polonius in HAMLET, Gloucester in KING LEAR, Shylock in THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, and as Prospero in THE TEMPEST. Michael was also a founding member of the award-winning Friends and Artists Theatre Ensemble (FATE) in Los Angeles. Directing and choreography credits include ROMEO AND JULIET for Shakespeare Orange County, IF I SHOULD DIE BEFORE I WAKE for La Mirada Theatre, WEST SIDE STORY for San Jose Civic Light Opera, LOOKING GLASS for Laughing Horse Repertory, and THE THREEPENNY OPERA for FATE.

Evelyn Carol Case (Beatrice) has appeared with SOC as Gertrude in HAMLET, Goneril in KING LEAR, Queen Elizabeth in RICHARD III, and many other roles. She has performed extensively throughout the United States, and was a member of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival's resident company for eleven seasons where her tenure included seasons of rotating repertory as well as major American tours of ROMEO AND JULIET, ARMS and THE MAN, and THE COMEDY OF ERRORS. Ms. Case has appeared in leading roles at the Laguna Playhouse, Shakespeare Orange County, Theatre on the Green, American Stage Company, Pennsylvania Stage Company, and Arkansas Repertory Theatre, among others.

As has been part of Phantom Projects' mission for the past 17 years, the 10AM performance will be a special performance for over 1,200 teens bused in from schools in Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego Counties; many of the students will be seeing live theatre for the first time.

Phantom Projects continues their season in February, presenting Chance Theater's production of LITTLE WOMEN: THE BROADWAY MUSICAL on February 28, 2013. On May 16, 2013, the troupe will present OUT, OUT, BRIEF CANDLE. The production, written by Phantom Projects co-founder Bruce Gevirtzman, tackles drug and alcohol use among teens. The season closes on August 3, 2013 with the 7th Annual Young Artist Project.
