Orange County Gay Men's Chorus Announces Cast of Upcoming Orange County Premiere of Andrew Lippa's I AM HARVEY MILK Image

MenAlive, the Orange County Gay Men's Chorus, under the direction of Artistic Director Bob Gunn, proudly announces the final cast selection of their upcoming Orange County Premiere production of Andrew Lippa's groundbreaking oratorio I AM HARVEY MILK, which will be featured in the chorus' 17th season finalé concert HEROES, with an OPENING NIGHT performance set for Friday, July 20, 2018 at 8pm, and TWO additional concerts set for Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 3pm and 8pm.

All performances will once again take place at their home venue, the Irvine Barclay Theatre, located on the campus of the University of California at Irvine (UCI). Reserve tickets for all performances are now available through the Irvine Barclay Box Office at 949.854.4646 or online at theBarclay.org.

The cast joining the chorus on stage for I AM HARVEY MILK will be Tenor Stephen Brothwell as Harvey Milk, Boy Soprano Colin Eaton as Young Harvey Milk, and Soprano Brooke Aston as Harvey Milk's mother.

I AM HARVEY MILK-featuring words and music by Tony Award nominee Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party, The Addams Family, Big Fish) and orchestrations by August Eriksmoen-is an hour-long original musical that chronicles the life of LGBTQ Icon Harvey Milk, who was a tenacious gay rights activist and was the first openly-gay elected official in the history of California. He last served in the San Francisco Board of Supervisors before his tragic assassination in 1978.

From his boyhood years to his untimely death, I AM HARVEY MILK will showcase significant and formative moments from Milk's life.

Lippa's critically-acclaimed song cycle was originally commissioned by the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus, directed by Dr. Timothy Seelig, in honor of the slain politician and gay rights pioneer and the 35th anniversary of the Chorus. MenAlive's production will mark its premiere performance in Orange County.

Tickets: Reserved seats start at $39
SPECIAL $30-Under-30 Tickets available 1 Hour before each performance to patrons aged 30 and under with valid ID
