OOOOOGY GREEN & OTHER FABLES Runs At Celebration Theatre 5/23-6/20
Celebration Theatre presents OOOOOGY GREEN AND OTHER FABLES, the playful second production in Celebration Theatre's "Families at Play" Series. Combining Aesop's Fables and a new twist on fable inspired storytelling, OOOOOGY GREEN AND OTHER FABLES utilizes puppets, sound, music and movement in a show that challenges audiences of all ages to find magic in the world around them. OOOOOGY GREEN AND OTHER FABLES follows Ooooogy Green, an awkward caterpillar, and his counterparts as he learns that even though he may be "oooooogy" and "green" and not like quite like the other bugs, he is still important and special in his own way.
OOOOOGY GREEN AND OTHER FABLES celebrates the differences in us all, offering families of all backgrounds a safe, creative environment to teach youngsters about acceptance.
Highlighting the production are shadow and rod puppets created by puppet designer Erik Finck. Finck was recently named one of the "40 Under 40" young puppet masters from around the world by Puppet International Magazine. This is Finck's second collaboration with director, Louise Hung, their first production being Mukashi Mukashi: Asian Tales From Long Ago, which premiered at the Geffen Playhouse and toured in partnership with UCLA to LAUSD elementary schools. Brian Pugach writes original music for this revamped production of the original play. Michael Mullen designs costumes.
OOOOOGY GREEN AND OTHER FABLES aims to introduce young audiences to creative, visual storytelling while at the same time teaching them about the rainbow of people around us.
OOOOOGY GREEN AND OTHER FABLES is produced by Celebration Theatre's Artistic Director Michael A. Shepperd. The show is Stage Managed by Allie Roy. Celebration's Managing Director is Michael Kricfalusi.
OOOOOGY GREEN AND OTHER FABLES will open on Saturday, May 23 and run for five weeks only thru Saturday, June 20! Every Saturday at 10:30am and 1:00pm. Ticket prices are $10.00 for Adults, $5.00 for Children 12 and under.
