L.A. Theatre Works follows up its September recording of Neil LaBute's Reasons to Be Pretty with the West Coast premiere of his fresh, quirky sequel -- REASONS TO BE HAPPY -- featuring the same characters 3 years later.
LaBute is in the director's chair again, and Emmy nominated Jenna Fischer (The Office), Thomas Sadoski (The Newsroom), Gia Crovatin (Neil LaBute's most recent Good Luck [In Farsi]) and Josh Stamberg(Drop Dead Diva) are back as Steph, Greg, Carly and Kent. The couples have realigned, but the stars are still crossed as these four struggle to find love. LaBute's gift for contemporary dialogue captures a woman's directness and a man's loss for words in this hilarious take on heartbreak and miscommunication. All performances will be recorded live in front of an audience (without sets or costumes) by L.A. Theatre Works to air on LATW's syndicated radio theater series, which broadcasts weekly on public radio stations nationwide (locally, in Southern California, on KPFK 90.7 FM) and can be streamed on demand at www.latw.org.Thursday, Dec. 12 @ 8 pm
