NUNSENSATIONS Closes at the Lyric Theatre, 3/13

By:

The Lyric Theatre on N. La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles will kick off its 2011 season of musicals with the Los Angeles premiere of Nunsensations!, directed by Amy Rowell. Performances end on March 13.

With book, music and lyrics by Dan Goggin, Nunsensations! - The Nunsense Vegas Revue takes place in the Pump Room Lounge of the Mystique Motor Lodge in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Sisters have been told by a Hoboken parishioner that he will donate $10,000 to their school if the Sisters go to Las Vegas and perform in a friend's showroom. Reverend Mother has serious doubts about appearing in "Sin City." However, after convincing her that "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas," the Sisters plan their program. This is the seventh Nunsense musical.

The cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Becky Birdsong, Dorrie Braun, Doreen Calderon, Tracy McBurnett, and Bonnie Snyder. The set design is by Allan Jensen, the lighting design is by Irina Khodorkovsky, the costume design is by Leslie Guardado, and sound design is by Lucas Lilieholm. Dorrie Braun serves as music director, the choreographer is Josh Brodis, and the production stage manager is Stephaine Boltjes. Thomas Colby co-produces with the Lyric Theatre.

Opening night is set for Friday, February 11 at 8:00, and the run will continue through March 13 only. The running schedule is Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00, with two additional Sunday performances on March 6 and 13, both at 7pm.
