McBroom, Powers, Cavenaugh & Brourman Lead DANGEROUS BEAUTIES In Pasadena

Lyricist Amanda McBroom (Pasadena Playhouse's Heartbeats and "The Rose"/Bette Midler) and composer Michele Brourman (TV's The Land Before Time and Universal Studios' The Little Engine that Could), the musical writing-duo of Pasadena Playhouse's upcoming musical Dangerous Beauty, together with the world premiere musical's leading lady Jenny Powers (Broadway's Grease as Rizzo and Little Women as Meg), will perform one special night at Show at Barre entitled DANGEROUS BEAUTIES. The evening will also feature a guest appearance by Broadway star Matt Cavenaugh (Broadway's West Side Story). DANGEROUS BEAUTIES, presented by Show at Barre, will play on Thursday, November 4 at 8:00 p.m. at Barre vt (1714 N. Vermont) in Los Feliz.

The three dynamic divas - Amanda, Jenny and Michele - will perform well-known hits and unknown gems for an evening of fabulous and eclectic songs. The BEAUTIES will also give the audience a sneak-peek of the world premiere musical Dangerous Beauty, which begins performances February 1, 2011 at Pasadena Playhouse.

All tickets for DANGEROUS BEAUTIES are $25.00. Tickets are available online at www.ShowAtBarre.com or at the door on the day of the show (if available). Advance purchases (online) are highly recommended - advance ticket buyers receive priority seating. There is a two-drink minimum and 18% gratuity is added to all checks. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy BARRE vt's world class California cuisine. BARRE vt, located at 1714 N. Vermont (corner of Hollywood and Vermont), is part of the Vermont/Rockwell Restaurant complex. Valet parking is available behind the restaurant.

DANGEROUS BEAUTY AT Pasadena Playhouse

Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director and Stephen Eich, Executive Director), in association with Susan Dietz and Tara Smith, present the world premiere of DANGERGOUS BEAUTY. The new musical features book and verse by Jeannine Dominy (Warner Bros' Dangerous Beauty and Fox's The Ghost and Mrs. Muir), lyrics by Amanda McBroom (Pasadena Playhouse's Heartbeats and "The Rose"/Bette Midler), music by Michele Brourman (TV's The Land Before Time and Universal Studios' The Little Engine that Could) and direction by Tony-nominee Sheryl Kaller (Broadway's Next Fall and Off-Broadway's Adrift in Macao). Additional creative team members include: chorography by Benoit-Swan Pouffer (Artistic Director of the Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre) music direction by Fred Lassen (Broadway's South Pacific) and vocal arrangements by AnnMarie Milazzo (Broadway's Spring Awakening and Next to Normal). Jenny Powers (Broadway's Grease as Rizzo and Little Women as Meg) will star as Veronica Franco. DANGEROUS BEAUTY will play from February 1 - 27, 2011, with the official press opening on February 13, 2011, at Pasadena Playhouse (39 South El Molino Avenue).
