Live Holiday Radio Play Comes to South Pas Woman's Club
Emma and Jackie run Regal Bride, a wedding planning paradise for "theme brides." The two best pals are just trying to get through the holiday wedding season -- and the inevitable request for Santa as an officiant -- when a mysterious, handsome stranger enters the picture...but when they discover his name on the invitations of Regal Bride's big Christmas wedding, it all starts to fall apart. This year, forget your troubles in the holiday rush and join Little Candle Productions for a special live presentation of the 2016 award-nominated radio play Deck the Halls (With Matrimony) on December 14 at the Woman's Club of South Pasadena.
The cast includes actors from the original podcast alongside some Little Candle company favorites, with special celebrity appearances by Max Adler (Glee, Switched at Birth, Sully, The Young & The Restless), Katie Featherston (Paranormal Activity), and Katie Leclerc (Switched at Birth). And because no radio play is complete without sound effects, the performance will be accompanied by live foley to help bring this holiday romantic comedy to life.
Drinks and hors d'oeuvres are included in the ticket price.
Local theatregoers may have seen Little Candle Productions at the Fremont Centre Theatre, where they have mounted four fully-produced world premieres since finding a home in South Pasadena in 2013 -- The Innocence of Father Brown, The Elliots, the smash hit Cold Tangerines: The Play, and this summer's American Home. The company has also produced work the historic Alex Theatre in Glendale, the Hollywood Fringe Festival, and at San Marino's Old Mill in celebration of the venue's 2016 bicentennial.
