Set on New Year's Eve, Cold Lang Syne is about the reunion of four college friends and their significant others, who come together at a holiday party-a party that takes a deadly turn. Which guests harbor secrets-and who among them is a killer?
The cast for Cold Lang Syne includes Bobbi Berkmen (Helen), Mikhail Blokh (Perry), Les Brandt (Garth), Michael Harris (Mark), Holly Montgomery-Webb (Aggy), Douglas Myers (Trevor), Sandra Purpuro (Leanne), and Dwight Turner (Denny).
Bobbi Berkmen (Helen), Bobbi has appeared in two national Corona ad campaigns (directed by Bennett Miller of Capote fame), and most recently worked on Pirates of the Caribbean 4, directed by Rob Marshall (Nine and Chicago).
Mikhail Blokh (Perry), A current Sacred Fools Theatre Company member and long time veteran of the Fools stage (for which he has both written and directed), Mikhail is still seen in debauched late night fare such as Serial Killers and Fast N' Loose. Past credits include Crime Scene, Grimm! and Grimm, too!!, Naked Holidays, Slow N' Tight, and Queen Christina Goes Roman. Mikhail can also be spotted as a regular on the Los Angeles stand up scene at such venues as the Hollywood Improv, Malo, and the Palms.
Les Brandt (Garth) has credits ranging from national TV spots (Coca Cola, McDonald's), to top rated TV series ("Desperate Housewives," "CSI Miami"), independent films (Smoke, Hollywood Reigns), new media (The Resolve), and theater (Twelve Angry Men). When not working, he is honored to give of himself to worthy causes, particularly those benefiting disabled children and animal welfare organizations.
For Michael Harris (Mark), life was always an adventure growing up. As the son of a Marine Corps officer, Harris and his family moved frequently, stopping in Indiana long enough for Harris to play football at ISU. He was on track to be an English/P.E. teacher and coach, but after appearing in a Thanksgiving play he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. After swimming around Hollywood, he found a port at Playhouse West in North Hollywood and dropped anchor.
Holly Montgomery-Webb (Aggy) came to L.A. by way of Chicago where she honed her craft onstage and in numerous independent films. A graduate of Chicago's Second City Conservatory and their comedy writing program, Holly continued her love of comedy in L.A. as a member of the ensembles The Former Soviet Union and The Kid's Table at Second City, and with writing and performing in Acme Comedy Theatre's Bravo sketch company. She recently appeared on General Hospital and in The Check, opposite Lea Thompson.
Douglas Myers (Trevor) started his acting career five years ago, and has since acted in over 50 films, theatrical productions, commercials, corporate videos, pilots and web series. Prior to Cold Lang Syne, Douglas appeared in LB Shakespeare Company's production of BENT in the lead role of Maximilian Berber. Additional theatrical roles include Bill Warren in Simon's California Suite, Peter Kidde in Greenberg's Eastern Standard and Lomov in Chekov's Marriage Proposal.
Sandra Purpuro (Leanne) went from a performing arts high school in Montclair, New Jersey, to study at AMDA in New York City. Her first job out of the gate was at Hershey Park PA doing the "Dance, Dance, Dance" show-- five shows a day in 100 degree heat. Regional theatre and national tours include: Cats, Hair, Hello Dolly, West Side Story, etc. On Broadway, she starred as Cha Cha in the original revival cast of Grease and went on as Rizzo when Rosie O'Donnell left the production.
Dwight Turner (Denny) was born and raised in rural Hazard, Kentucky, where he appeared in theatre productions throughout his childhood. Upon moving to Los Angeles, he landed a role in a CLIO award-winning national commercial. In 2006, Dwight had the opportunity to appear with the LA Opera and the American Ballet Theatre at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. In 2007, Dwight was asked to play a doctor in the TV Pilot "Rx." More recently, he appeared in a Chevrolet commercial for Europe and played Theopholies in the feature film The Deported.
