Impro Theatre Presents Annual WINTERFEST this December
The award-winning Impro Theatre continues its 10th Anniversary Season with "WINTERFEST," their international genre and narrative improv festival, from December 6 to 10, 2016. This year, special guests include acclaimed international improv group Det Andre Teatretfrom Norway making their Los Angeles debut. "WINTERFEST" will take place at the intimate Impro Studio in the heart of Los Feliz Village, CA.
"WINTERFEST" is a 5-day live performance festival showcasing some of the best genre and narrative improv comedy from the U.S. and around the world. It will feature 18 different shows, over 75 international performers, and specialized improv workshops. Highlights include performances of Det Andre Teatret's acclaimed shows Almost Ibsen, When They Met and Throw Away performed in Los Angeles for the first time, in addition to Impro Theatre Main Company's award-winning Twilight Zone UnScripted and Impro Studio's wildly popular The Improvised Generation. Impro Theatre has garnered national attention with their unique acclaimed brand of theatre and sold-out shows. Their 10th Anniversary Season has already included a special one-night-only performance of L.A. Noir UnScripted at the 1200-seat John Anson Ford Amphitheater along with extended runs of Fairytales UnScripted at the Lewis Family Playhouse, Twilight Zone UnScripted: Abridged at the Impro Studio, Tennessee Williams UnScripted at the Falcon Theatre, and headlining events in Florida and Texas. The season concludes with 1966 Holiday Variety Extravaganza at The Broad Stage on December 15, 16 and 17.
Based in Oslo, Norway, Det Andre Teatret was established in 2011 and in a short time has developed a strong reputation and enjoyed remarkable success both at home and internationally for their unique style of improvised theatre. Their ensemble includes 20 performers, and they continue to develop both improvised formats and scripted work. They are currently involved in their first U.S. tour.
