Crown City Theatre Company presents the musical theatre comedy "I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE", with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro, music by Jimmy Roberts and direction by Gary Lee Reed.

Come celebrate the triumphs and trials of the modern-day mating game. From dating and waiting to bridemaids and babies, this love-happy musical revue cleverly covers everything you've secretly thought about romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws but were afraid to admit. Make a date to fall in love and laugh until it hurts. Bring your husbands, bring your wives, bring your children, heck bring your dog! (K-9's will have to remain outside). Crown City Theatre Company has been around since it first put up their musical "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" at the Ivy Substation in 1996. Since then they have produced many productions including "Godspell" and "The Boys From Syracuse" at the Excalibur Theater and 8 years of Shakespeare in Nevada. After changing the name of the company from La Petite in 2005 to Crown City they produced 3 seasons of the Pasadena Shakespeare Festival until they found a home at the end of 2007 here in North Hollywood. They have produced 4 world premieres and 16 other plays/musicals in the 5 plus years they have been located in St. Matthew's Church (not affiliated). Their company has won numerous awards and has been seen on NBC Nightly News and KTLA Morning News.

DIRECTOR - Gary Lee Reed. Most recently directed the world premiere play SHADES by Paula Caplan at LATC. Prior to that he directed the very successful revival of AND THE WORLD GOES ROUND at NoHO Arts center and the world premiere play HahNah at theLounge Theatre in Hollywood. For the 50th year anniversary of the novel Gary directed TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (Critic's Pick) to sell-out crowds for Actors Co-op. His critically acclaimed Hollywood production of GODSPELL garnered 22 different nominations and awards including Critic's Choice in the LA Times, Pick of the week in the LA Weekly and Critic's Pick in the Daily Variety. Other directing credits include MY WAY: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra, BONNIE & CLYDE - the two fisted six gun musical (Innovation Theatre Works)THE MOST HAPPY FELLA, (LA Weekly best musical nominee) 1776, JERRY'S GIRLS, THE WOMAN IN BLACK, SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY and the world premieres LIGHTS, DANCING WITH THE BAD MAN(ARCtheatre company) and SOLDIERS SONG. His production of FALLING LIGHTLY by D. Bennett Nelson won first place at the Annual Jerome Lawrence One Act Play Festival in Los Angeles. He has also directed a national tour show of the Comedy Improv Duo Theatre Off The Cuff . As director and actor Gary has had the honor of working with talent such as Sir Ian McKellan and The National Theatre of London, Alfred Molina, Alan Young, Barry Williams and John Schuck and his wife Bonnie Bailey Reed who was a series regular on ABC family's State of Grace. He is an Emmy Award winning Art Director for a cable show called Pioneer Women. He has also written a book of theatre games that was published by Lillenas Publishing oddly enough called The Little Book of Theatre Games. Look for Gary's new play titled PERSONAL EFFECTS.

"I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" will run at the Crown City Theatre / 11031 Camarillo Street / North Hollywood, Calif., with previews Sept 6, 7, & 8 and an opening set for Sept 12th. Playing Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, Sundays at 3 pm. Scheduled to run thru Oct. 20. Tickets $15 for previews, $30 general admission.
