Hollywood Fringe Partners with One City One Pride Festival

By:

Hollywood Fringe Festival is proud to announce a partnership with the City of West Hollywood's One City One Pride Festival and an additional promotion for Fringe participants.

Any participant show with LGBTQ themes that books at least one performance in a West Hollywood venue is eligible for a complimentary HFF registration (valued at $250) courtesy of a grant received from the City of West Hollywood. Participants will also be included in the One City One Pride Festival.

These scholarships will be made available through a lottery taking place in April 2016, announced by the City of West Hollywood and administered by the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Productions needn't have additional performances booked within the official 2016 Fringe Zone but festival organizers recommend you do so for ultimate exposure at the Hollywood Fringe.

Additional information on how to participate can be found at hollywoodfringe.org/weho.

This event is presented as part of the City of West Hollywood's One City One Pride LGBTQ Arts Festival which this year celebrates the theme 'Into the Streets,' based on a rallying cry of early LGBTQ rights groups. Events take place from Harvey Milk Day (May 22) through the end of June Pride month. The festival will comprise of performing arts, visual arts, arts interventions, and public art. For more info and to see a full roster of events please visit www.weho.org/pride or follow on social media @WeHoArts.

The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual, open-access, community-derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community. Each June during the Hollywood Fringe, the arts infiltrates the Hollywood neighborhood: Fully equipped theaters, parks, clubs, churches, restaurants and other unexpected places host hundreds of productions by local, national, and international arts companies and independent performers.

Participation in the Hollywood Fringe is completely open and uncensored. This free-for-all approach underlines the festival's mission to be a platform for artists without the barrier of a curative body. By opening the gates to anyone with a vision, the festival is able to exhibit the most diverse and cutting-edge points-of-view the world has to offer. Additionally, by creating an environment where artists must self-produce their work, the Fringe motivates its participants to cultivate a spirit of entrepreneurialism in the arts.

The organization needs volunteers and interns throughout the year. Sign up here. Want more information?
