Hollywood Bowl Hosts A BEATLES CELEBRATION 7/9-11
Forty-five years after the Beatles set foot on the Hollywood Bowl stage in 1965 and more than 40 years after Let It Be and Abbey Road, the Hollywood Bowl honors the Fab Four's musical history and greatest symphonic moments with three performances of "A Beatles Celebration," Friday and Saturday, July 9 and 10, at 8:30 p.m., as well as Sunday, July 11, at 7:30 p.m. The weekend's special guest artists, all musicians of different genres - Grammy winner Patti Austin, Rob Laufer, Bettye Lavette, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Todd Rundgren - offer their own interpretations of Beatles classics, such as "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," "Penny Lane," "Yesterday," "Blackbird," "Let It Be," and many more. The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra led by Thomas Wilkins accompanies the guest artists in these performances celebrating the most popular rock band of all time.
