Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre brings FishEyes to Culver City's Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm.

Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre partnered with local architect Alex Ward to design and build a 15-foot steel fish. That Fish spent much of the year traveling around the Los Angeles area, stopping for residencies in parks in Los Angeles. With each stop, HDDT's core company dancers performed an adventurous, multidisciplinary production exploring water and drought through site-specific choreography in, on, and around the giant stainless steel fish.

The fish comes to the Scenic Overlook for a public performance funded by the City of Culver City to inspire awareness of the Ballona Wetlands, an urban-adjacent ecosystem, within the Culver City community. Choreography will highlight the interaction of dancers with the teaching sculpture, encouraging play, investigation, improvisation, and responsiveness as key strategies towards greater environmental awareness.

This performance is made possible in part by a Culver City Performing Arts Grant with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment.
