Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre Presents FISHEYES At The Cabrillo Marine Aquarium ImageHeidi Duckler Dance Theatre returns to the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium with a reprise of FishEyes on Saturday, May 12 at 7:30pm.

Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre collaborated with architect Alex Ward to design and build a 15-foot steel fish that would reside as interactive public art. The Fish spent much of the past two years touring cities and national parks throughout Southern California. With each stop, the company's dancers performed an adventurous, multidisciplinary production exploring water and drought through site-specific choreography in, on, and around the giant stainless steel fish.

Artistic Director Heidi Duckler is joined by dancers Danny Dolan, Amanda MacLeod and Himerria Wortham who will open the performance with three oral stories & original movement inspired by themes of water conservation, climate change, and human connection to our environment. A panel discussion lead by Board President, Jamarah Hayner will follow. Panelists Jon Christensen (Professor, UCLA Institute for the Environment and Sustainability) and Glen Dake (Landscape Architect) will discuss how art making can increase environmental awareness. Closing the evening is a performance of FishEyes with live accompaniment of an original score composed by Juhi Bansl.

Stay for a post performance reception and enjoy a glass of wine, light snacks and conversation with the artists.

This performance is made possible with support from The Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.

Tickets: $50 General Admission $25 Students/Seniors/CMA Members/DRC Members/HDDT Members
