Grove Theatre to Present THE SNOW QUEEN, Opening Today

By:

The Grove Theatre presents THE SNOW QUEEN - A Frosty, Fractured Fable (A British-style Holiday Panto), written By Dale Sandlin with Music/Lyrics by Steve Apostolina. Opening November 28th, and running for four performances only, Snow Queen is a musical excursion of the Snow Queen meets the Widow Twanky, played by Christofer Sands. The battle begins when Twanky's son is taken to fix a magic mirror for the evil Queen. This interactive Christmas Show will be sure to please both parents and kids, from "boos" and snowballs to the fun lyrics and live music. Yes and even Santa Claus gets involved. If you thought the holidays were all THE NUTCRACKER and Dickens, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, then you're in for a big surprise! The holidays just wouldn't be the holidays without a panto! Pantomime (informally panto), is a type of musical comedy stage production, designed for family entertainment. It was developed in England and is generally performed during the Christmas and New Year season. Modern pantomime includes songs, slapstick comedy and dancing, and combines topical humor with a story loosely based on a well-known fairy tale. It is a participatory form of theatre, in which the audience is expected to shout out phrases to the performers.

Performances are November 28th, 29th at 7:29 pm and November 30th at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Tickets are $20 and $25 with senior, student and group discounts, and can be purchased by calling (909) 920-4343, by visiting The Grove box office or on line at www.grovetheatre.com. The Grove Theatre is located at 276 E. Ninth Street, Upland, CA 91786.
