FIDDLER ON THE ROOF Comes to Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, 3/29-30

By:

The Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) concludes the 2012-2013 Broadway Series with the Tony-winning Fiddler on the Roof. The musical's two-day engagement at the CCPA is set for Friday, March 29, 8:00 PM and Saturday, March 30, 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Tickets, ranging from $60-$30, are available at the CCPA Ticket Office, by calling (562) 467-8818, or at www.cerritoscenter.com. The $60 seats are sold out.

The timeless Fiddler on the Roof has endeared itself to audiences worldwide with the tale of Tevye, a humble milkman struggling to instill his religious values and Jewish traditions in his strong-willed daughters. However, times are changing. When Tevye's daughters want to make their own matches, he must choose between their happiness and those longstanding traditions that keep the outside world at bay.

In the end, Tevye's pride, faith, and love for his family help him persevere and prevail over the outside forces that threaten his customs and way of life. The universal themes of tradition and heritage transcend race, economic class, nationality, and religion.

Cleverly weaving poignant music, dance, and laughter, Fiddler on the Roof has earned applause worldwide. The production showcases a rousing score that features Tradition; Matchmaker, Matchmaker; If I Were a Rich Man; and Sunrise, Sunset.

For tickets or more information on Fiddler on the Roof at the CCPA, call (562) 467-8818, or go to www.cerritoscenter.com.
