The iconic North Hollywood dance studio founded by Debbie Reynolds in 1979 was slated for auction in October as part of the personal property collection she owned with daughter Carrie Fisher. Saving the studio from an uncertain fate, new owners Marie and Austin Wright and Teresa Espinosa are kicking off major renovations to this landmark dance studio TONIGHT (6-9PM) with a public painting party featuring DJ Shakee, dancing with the choreographers behind Magic Mike, Janet and Michael Jackson and other celebrities, and free food from Fat Sal's Deli.

DETAILS: Projected for completion next month, the 20,000 square foot upgrade will add extra rehearsal studios, a zen room with space for meditation and new yoga classes, a spacious concept lobby, free wifi and a live streaming platform to take classes from wherever you are, as well as new flooring, mirrors, light fixtures, furniture and paint.

Debbie Reynolds Legacy Studios' instructors are some of the best in the business. They have taught globally and have choreographed for numerous artists, including Channing Tatum, Janet Jackson, Missy Elliot, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé and many more. Celebrity visitors in the studio's earlier days included Lucille Ball, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Bette Midler, Cher, Usher and Mariah Carey.
