DRAGONFEST to Return to Martial Arts History Museum This August
The Martial Arts History Museum has announced the 2017 return of Dragonfest, the West Coast's largest martial arts exposition attracting more than 3,000 attendees.
Featuring hundreds of vendors, celebrities, and special events over two days, the event will happen on Saturday, August 5, 2017, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel and Convention Center, and on Sunday, August 6, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Martial Arts History Museum.
Tickets for Saturday's expo will be $30.00 ($5.00 for children), and Sunday's red carpet celebrity event will be $5.00. www.MuseumDragonfest.com.
Hosted by the Martial Arts History Museum, Dragonfest 2017 will be filled with more than 100 vendor booths featuring anime artists Paul Wee, Christophe Vacher, Jerome Lu, the Kano Kid, Eleazar Del Rosario, Ed Parker Jr., with more to be announced. Among martial arts celebrities will be James Hong, Steve Oedekerk, Robin Shou, Phil Morris, Don Wilson, Cynthia Rothrock, Michael Jai White, and more to come. Martial arts pioneers will include Benny Urquidez, James Lew, Leo Fong, and Phillip Rhee. In addition, there will be the opportunity to purchase Asian-themed books, crafts, martial arts products, cultural jewelry, celebrity autographs, plush toys, and posters.
By expanding Dragonfest to a two-day event, the expo will be introducing "Meeting with the Celebrities," a red carpet event at the Martial Arts History Museum. Attendees can meet their favorite celebrities, and participate in Q&A seminars and workshops. The Martial Arts History Museum is located at 2319 W Magnolia Boulevard in Burbank.
Throughout the expo, Dragonfest will play host to a large variety of Asian cultural performances including Chinese Lion Dancing, Japanese Taiko Drumming, Japanese harp, stuntfighting performances, Hawaiian Hula and Filipino Dance groups. Kids will also have a fun time at Dragonfest with face painting, taking pictures with the Ninja Turtles, and enjoying cosplay characters.
