DARK SHADOWS 50th ANNIVERSARY Actors from the Original TV Classic Reunite

By:

The legendary Gothic-suspense, supernatural series "Dark Shadows" debuted in June of 1966 and became a cult sensation, attracting 20 million housewives and teenagers at its peak each afternoon with spooky tales and alluring characters including the vulnerable vampire Barnabas Collins, played by the late Jonathan Frid.

Now a half century later on Saturday, October 29th, a dozen of "Dark Shadows'" original stars and production personnel will reunite for a spookacular event entitled DARK SHADOWS 50th ANNIVERSARY HALLOWEEN IN HOLLYWOOD.

Among the special guests attending will be Lara Parker (who portrayed the beautiful but evil witch Angelique), John Karlen (vampire caretaker Willie Loomis), Kathryn Leigh Scott (waitress/governess Maggie Evans), Roger Davis (romantic hero Peter Bradford), Nancy Barrett (head-strong heiress Carolyn Stoddard), James Storm (menacing ghost Gerard) and Lisa Richards (werewolf girlfriend Sabrina Stuart).

Emmy and Grammy-nominated composer Robert Cobert will also be on hand to sign copies of the "Original Music From Dark Shadows" soundtrack, a Top 20 album from 1969 that remains in the Top 10 best-selling television scores of all time.

DARK SHADOWS 50th ANNIVERSARY HALLOWEEN IN HOLLYWOOD will allow fans to meet the actors, receive complimentary autographs, enjoy a cast reunion with a question-and-answer session, dramatic and musical performances by the stars, rare video screenings, a memorabilia flea market, and a Halloween costume event with the guests.

The event will also celebrate the publication of Lara Parker's new novel "Dark Shadows - The Heiress of Collinwood" which will make its debut prior to its November publication. A preview of a new major "Dark Shadows" documentary will also be shown. Special 50th anniversary commemorative merchandise includes apparel, a retro-styled lunchbox and a DVD collection from MPI.

After the original "Dark Shadows" daytime series of 1,225 episodes ended in 1971, the romantic thriller has lived on in reruns, DVDs, a 1990s primetime mini-series, theatrical films ("House of Dark Shadow" & "Night of Dark Shadows"), a Johnny Depp-Tim Burton feature film adaptation) and regular fan conventions since 1983.

DARK SHADOWS 50th ANNIVERSARY HALLOWEEN IN HOLLYWOOD will take place on Saturday, October 29th from 12 Noon to 12 Midnight at the Woman's Club of Hollywood, located at 1749 N. La Brea Avenue in Hollywood.

Admission is for 12-hour celebration is only $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by going to the event site - http://www.darkshadowsfestival.com/
