Crown City Theatre to Present THE FOREIGNER, 2/14-4/27

Crown City Theatre Company presents "THE FOREIGNER" by Larry Shue, directed By Joanne McGee at the Crown City Theatre (located on the campus of St. Matthew's Church), 11031 Camarillo Street / North Hollywood, Calif.

Previews Friday February 14th and Saturday the 15th @ 8 pm, and Sunday @ 3 pm. Opens Thursday, February 20th at 8 pm Playing: Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, Sundays at 3 pm. Closes: April 27th, 2014.

THE STORY: What does a shy Englishman in search of rest do when he visits a fishing lodge in Georgia? In Larry Shue's hilarious farce, Charlie Baker, a proof reader by day and a boring husband by night, pretends to be a foreigner of non specific extraction who doesn't speak or understand a word of English. When others begin to speak freely around him, he not only becomes privy to secrets both dangerous and frivolous, he also discovers an adventurous extrovert within himself.

Crown City Theatre Company has been around since it first put up their musical "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" at the Ivy Substation in 1996. Since then they have produced many productions including "Godspell" and "The Boys From Syracuse" at the Excalibur Theater and 8 years of Shakespeare in Nevada. After changing the name of the company from La Petite in 2005 to Crown City they produced 3 seasons of the Pasadena Shakespeare Festival until they found a home at the end of 2007 here in North Hollywood. They have produced 4 world premieres and 10 other plays/musicals in the 5 years they have been located in St. Matthew's Church (not affiliated). Their company has won numerous awards and has been seen on NBC Nightly News and KTLA Morning News.
