Crooked Heart's THE OTHER F WORD to Make World Premiere at Hollywood Fringe, 6/9

By:

Crooked Heart Theater announced today that its new play The Other F Word will have its world premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in June.

"The Other F Word is a play that shows how a tiny thing like a pen can transform people's lives forever," said playwright Alyson Mead. "I was inspired by today's social and political activism, often done online, where people may never meet one another face to face. In following four characters through a shared experience like the one depicted in the play, I was pleasantly surprised by where they led me."

The Other F Word is about four strangers who meet one afternoon at a focus group tasked with marketing pens specifically designed for women. Daniel, Carol, Roxanne and Evie each have a unique story to tell, but will they find common ground at the conference table, or allow their beliefs to divide them forever? What happens when people decide to put human beings before marketing? The Other F Word answers those questions in a funny, moving and ultimately empowering comedy.

"It was the voice of The Other F Word that pulled me in right away," said director Danielle Ozymandias. "The characters in the play had me from page one, and I knew I was in for a thrilling ride."

The play will run for four performances at the Lounge Theater during the Hollywood Fringe Festival. All times are firm, and all shows will begin on time. Performances are Sunday, June 9th, Saturday, June 15th, Tuesday, June 18th, and Sunday, June 23rd. Running time: 45 minutes. At the Lounge Theatre, 6201 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, Calif. For tickets, call 323.469.9988. Tickets are $12. Available through Hollywood Fringe Festival site beginning May 1st, 2013 at www.hollywoodfringe.org/projects/1359.
