Corey Rieger, Andrew Simpson to Star in THE PHOENIX PROJECT!
Los Angeles theater locals Corey Rieger, Andrew Simpson, David Pesta and Orson Ossman are the stars of the new independent sci-fi feature THE PHOENIX PROJECT.
THE PHOENIX PROJECT is a psychological sci-fi drama; a story that explores the motivations and ethical boundaries of the human mind. The narrative follows four scientists who try to reanimate deceased organisms while dealing with the internal balance of ethics, logic, emotion and ingenuity. Using RED camera technology and professional coloring and sound design, the Ironwood Gang is devoted to producing the highest quality, independent, feature length film possible, which they hope to take to film festivals during 2013.
Henry Allen, one half of the group Virtual Boy will be the composer. Henry has cultivated a groundbreaking style that mixes electronic and classical styles and has built a cult following through work with his crew Team Supreme and under his record label, Alpha Pup Records.
The Ironwood Gang set out to create a film that combats the current adaptation and sequel trend in Hollywood, and to prove that unique films can be created, supported, and successful a studio thumbs-up. THE PHOENIX PROJECT was made on a micro-budget of $24,000. There is currently a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to finish its post-production. The project was recently chosen as a Staff Pick, and is over halfway to our $30,000 goal.
"We are a group of young filmmakers who have been collaborating for years and love making films together. We produce professional quality films that value story, character and truth, and we're doing it for a lower cost than the industry standard," said Pavey.
To help support these local artists and independent film, visit www.ironwoodgang.com/kickstarter through December 30th. Every $10 donation will receive a screener copy of the film, and every $20 donation will get priority seating at a local spring screening.
