Cirque du Soleil Returns to the Santa Monica Pier With OVO 1/20/2012
Cirque du Soleil is set to return to the Santa Monica Pier with its critically-acclaimed and family-friendly big top touring show OVO opening January 20, 2012 for a limited engagement under the trademark blue-and-yellow Grand Chapiteau (big top). Since its world-premiere in Montreal in 2009, OVO has charmed over 2 million spectators in North America. Santa Monica will be the only Southern California stop for a Grand Chapiteau (Big Top) production in 2012.
Specially-priced tickets are now exclusively available to Cirque Club members at cirqueclub.com. Membership is free and registration is quick and simple. Cirque Club members receive advance access to the best seats under the Grand Chapiteau, ticket upgrades, partner promotions and insider information on the world of Cirque du Soleil. The General Public On-Sale for OVO is set for Sunday, November 13, 2011.
Directed by Deborah Colker, the first female director at Cirque du Soleil, OVO means "egg" in Portuguese and is a headlong rush into a colorful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement.
Cirque du Soleil gratefully acknowledges iShares®, Presenting Sponsor of the OVO 2012 US Tour as well as Infiniti, CGI, XEROX, Sun Life Financial and American Express as the official sponsors.
Between now and when OVO has its opening on January 20, IRIS, a resident Cirque du Soleil production is now in previews and will have its official opening on September 25 at the Kodak Theatre. Tickets can be purchased online at cirquedusoleil.com/IRIS or by calling 1-877-943-IRIS.
